Leadership Collective

Youth Movement Records' Leadership Collective was launched in January of 2010. Created and directed by UCLA graduate and YMR alumna, current Program Director Diaris Alexander, the Leadership Collective Program is designed to find and cultivate the development of the Bay Area's emerging leaders. Youth Movement Records is now seeking bright, motivated, creative youth with leadership potential, especially those interested in music, media and business.

The Leadership Collective is currently divided into committees and we're looking to find people to fit the open positions in each of the following --

  • Communications: Secretary, Historian, Networking Coordinator
  • Promotions: Promotions Director, Outreach Coordinator, Graphics Lead
  • Education: Education Chair, Social Justice Director, Academic Support Coordinator
  • Events: Events Manager, Entertainment Director, Social Director, Sound Lead, Tech Support Crew

Participants selected for the Leadership Collective will:
- Receive mentorship and career coaching
- Meet professionals in various industries
- Produce events and marketing campaigns
- Strengthen their communication skills
- Learn organization and stress management techniques
- Have an outlet for creative and artistic expression

The Leadership Collective Program participants will also become eligible for internship placement and stipends after successful evaluations.

To be eligible for YMR's Leadership Collective, youth between the ages of 13-19 years must attend a welcome orientation at the YMR headquarters. Youth can either be be nominated by an adult (non-relative), or submit an application on their own behalf (adult reference required). Participants will be required to attend scheduled meetings once a week, on Monday evenings and expected to commit 2-3 hours/week outside of this time to their designated project.
